13. This was an interesting exercise, given the difference between then current ALA filing rules and Excel spreadsheet alphabetizing practice. Further, then current ALA rules filed on the last name of hyphenated names, so Smith-Jones filed on Jones, not Smith. ALA substituted real names for pseudonyms, but the Navy went with title page information. To top it off, the Navy could be a bit cavalier about titles, calling for occasional interpretation. As a result about 1% of the titles are probably mis-identified in some fashion. I don't think the error rate negates the overall conclusions.
